New Zealand jockey Kelsey Hannan has been cleared of any serious injury following her fall at Strathalbyn yesterday.

She has been diagnosed with a stable fracture in her C1 vertebrae and has not suffered any spinal cord damage.

Hannan wrote on her Social Media "Hey everyone! Thank you for all the messages. I'm awake now with a fractured C1 vertebrae, could have been a lot worse! Appreciate all the love."

A statement from Racing SA said they anticipate that Hannan will be released from hospital within the next 24 hours.

Emergency services were called to the racecourse at about 1.40pm yesterday after Hannan fell from a horse.

A SA Ambulance Service spokesperson said Hanna suffered spinal injuries and was unconscious when paramedics arrived at the scene.

The 21-year-old from New Zealand was riding Iva Dream in race one of the Strathalbyn Cup, when the horse stumbled shortly after crossing the finish line, dislodging her.

Hannan was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

In a social media post Racing South Australia thanked the on-track medical teams who ensured Hannan received immediate care as well as the State Rescue Helicopter Service for their swift response.

It said she was receiving treatment for a "non life threatening vertebrae injury".

In a statement, Racing SA said the meeting at Strathalbyn had been postponed until further notice.

"The intention of Racing SA is to run the remaining seven races on Friday," a spokesperson said.

"Racing SA will work together with its partners to confirm these changes."

Hannan moved to South Australia last year, but immediately spent 10 weeks on the sidelines after breaking her jaw while riding.

She rode 81 winners in New Zealand before moving across the Tasman.

Hannan started her career in Northland before moving to Waikato.
