ICC chief says players warned against gambling

Pakistan's cricket tour of England will continue, pending a police investigation into claims of "spot fixing" against four players.

But there's no indication that the test captain Salman Butt, pace bowlers Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, and wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal are facing suspensions at this stage.

The ICC's chief executive Haroon Lorgat says they've spent a lot of time and money warning players about approaches from gamblers.

Pakistan's leading players are reported to be on salaries of about 35-thousand dollars, a relative pittance compared with their Indian neighbours.
