Warriors coach preparing for second chance in finals

8:16 am on 11 September 2010

The Warriors coach Ivan Cleary says his side deserve a second chance in the NRL rugby league finals after losing 28-16 to the Titans in the first round of the playoffs on the Gold Coast last night.

The fifth placed Warriors now face a nervous weekend and will be praying the teams above them win giving the Auckland side a second bite at the finals cherry.

After week one of the eight team finals, the two bottom-placed sides bow out.

If St George, Penrith and Wests all win the Warriors will get another chance next weekend and Cleary says despite last night's loss his side deserves nothing less.

Should two of the three bottom placed teams win this weekend, it will be lights out for the Warriors' season.
