Henderson gets one bike back

6:07 am on 29 September 2010

The New Zealand cyclist Greg Henderson has overcome the loss of his luggage including his bikes and is set to lineup in this weekend's World Championship road race in Melbourne.

The British Team SKY rider lost all his gear during the flight from Britain and it was only yesterday that he got one of his bikes back, although the front forks were broken.

He says he's been able to get those replaced, however at this stage he doesn't have a backup bike.

Henderson refuses to think of the setback as a negative and is instead remaining positive about Sunday's race.

The championships start today with the time trial for elite women and the under-23 men.

New Zealand's interest centres on Linda Villumsen, who was third last year in Italy when she was representing Denmark, and her Commonwealth Games-bound teammate Melissa Holt.
