Former IPL chief without a job

The former Commissioner of the Indian Premier Cricket League Lalit Modi has been overlooked by the country's cricket board as one of five new vice-presidents, leaving him without any involvement in Indian cricket.

Modi, a flamboyant industrialist, who polarised opinion with his management style, was dropped by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which suspended him as IPL chief in April saying he had "brought a bad name to the administration of cricket".

Removed soon after the third edition of the 5.4 billion dollar league, Modi is battling charges of financial irregularities, having denied any wrongdoing.
