New Zealand Golf's chief executive Dean Murphy has strongly denied a suggestion that the Open championship won't be played until late next year, rather than January-February, because they haven't been able to find a major sponsor.
After months of speculation about the date and venue for next year's championship, Dean Murphy says they've decided on a venue, which he wouldn't confirm, nor would he say who they've signed as the major sponsor.
