The 16-year-old New Zealand golfer Cecilia Cho shot a final round five-under par 67 to finish in a share of fifth place at the ANZ Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast.

The two-time New Zealand Amateur champion finished on 17-under par in a four-way share of fifth place with European number one Lee-Anne Pace, Australian Sarah-Jane Smith and American Amanda Blumenherst.

Following the efforts of her New Zealand team-mate Lydia Ko who was 12th in last week's Australian Open, there will be more than passing interest in the performance of the teenagers at this week's New Zealand Women's Open near Christchurch.

Cho says she was a bit too confident in the final round, bombing a few shots really going for them.

However she says every time she missed a green, she was able to get up-and-down which was great.

World number two Yani Tseng of Taiwan made no race of things, closing with a four-under 68 to finish on 24-under par, and make it two in a row after defending her title at the Australian Open last week.
