Boston beat Canucks to force game seven

The Boston Bruins have thrashed the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 to force ice hockey's Stanley Cup finals into a seventh and deciding game.

The Bruins led 4-0 after the first period in Boston and will go to Vancouver for Thursday's decider looking to end a 39-year title drought.

But home ice advantage has been the one consistent in a hard-hitting and occasionally bad-tempered series with the Canucks winning each game in Vancouver by one goal while the Bruins had three lopsided wins in Boston.

Another home win would make Vancouver the first Candian team to win since Montreal in 1993.
