FIA confirms Bahrain GP definitely off this year

Formula One's governing body has formally deleted the Bahrain Grand Prix from this year's calendar and restored India's inaugural race to its original Oct. 30 date.

The FIA has released a statement ratifying the calendar after recent controversy over attempts to reinstate Bahrain.

The latest vote was little more than a formality after Bahrain announced last week that it accepted the race could not go ahead following civil unrest in the Gulf kingdom.

The decision leaves the Formula One championship with 12 remaining races, and it's made sure the teams were listened to.
