Gayle's Test fate being weighed up

2:25 pm on 18 June 2011

Whether West Indies superstar Chris Gayle will feature in their Test series against India starting next week is up in the air as the country's cricket board directors meet over his fate.

The powerful batsman is in hot water after he slammed the board over its handling of his dropping and poor communication in an interview with a Jamaican radio station.

Gayle skipped West Indies' home series against Pakistan to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the lucrative Indian Premier League, where he was the leading scorer in the tournament.

He did not play in the just-ended one day international series against India, although he made himself available.
