Wallaby win will boost confidence

The Wallabies midfielder Pat McCabe says a rare win over the All Blacks this weekend will boost confidence but doubts whether it will give them a psychological edge ahead of the World Cup.

McCabe says self-belief was high ahead of Saturday night's Test in Brisbane where Australia hope to break a 10-year Tri-Nations title drought with a win over New Zealand in the final match.

The Wallabies buildup this week has been disrupted by the one match suspension of James O'Connor, for his World Cup squad announcement no-show and the fuss over a 10-month-old tour incident between O'Connor, Quade Cooper and Kurtley Beale.

McCabe says the Wallabies learnt a lot from the 30-14 loss to the All Blacks at Eden Park earlier this month, particularly the need to be much more physical in the early stages of the match.
