The former All Black Jonah Lomu is in Auckland Hospital being treated for kidney problems.

The rugby legend has suffered from kidney problems since 1995, and received a transport about seven years ago.

An Auckland Hospital spokesperson says Lomu, who featured in the World Cup opening ceremony, is in a stable condition in the renal and liver transplant ward.
