The French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has suffered a major setback in his bid to qualify for the eight-man ATP world tour finals in London next month.
Seeded number four for the Shanghai Masters, Tsonga lost his opening match in three sets to Kei Nishikori.
The Japanese world number 47 came from a break down in the third set to win the match, only his second victory over a top-10 player.
