Taylor wary of under-manned Australian side

The Black Caps captain Ross Taylor is refusing to buy into talk that the Australian cricket team are at their lowest point in more than three decades as the mind games begin before the first test starting in Brisbane on Thursday.

After an impressive performance in the drawn four-day warm up match against Australia A the New Zealanders are bullish about their chances at the Gabba.

With five topline players unavailable the hosts will hand debuts to four bowlers in Brisbane and the Australian media have labelled the side the weakest test team in 30 years.

However skipper Ross Taylor says the Black Caps, who haven't won a test across the Tasman since 1985, would be foolish to take any Australian side lightly.
