The Iraqi army has unearthed a mass grave near the Shi'ite holy city of Karbala.
It was found on the northern outskirts of Karbala, 100km south of the Iraqi capital.
A security official said the bodies were believed to be those of Shi'ite shepherds abducted by Sunni gunmen wearing police uniforms in April 2007. They were never heard from again.
