Petrol, diesel prices down again

Oil companies in New Zealand dropped the domestic retail price of petrol and diesel again on Monday.

Shell, BP, Caltex, Mobil and Challenge cut prices by 6 cents. 91 octane is now $1.66.9 per litre, 95 octane is $1.71.9 per litre, while diesel is $1.25.9 per litre.

Shell says the stabilising New Zealand dollar and a decrease in the international barrel price is responsible for the drop, but prices are being reviewed daily because of the volatile market.

The oil company says petrol prices are down by 52c per litre since 17 July and diesel by 66c per litre.
