$130m airport company bond fully subscribed

Auckland International Airport Ltd is extremely popular with investors, with the full amount of a $130 million retail bond issue being taken up.

A $80 million bond offer has already been filled by the general public and investors who already hold airport bonds have now bought an extra $50 million worth.

Auckland International Airport Ltdsays the uptake shows investors see the company as a relatively safe port in an economic storm.

Companies issue bonds as long-term IOUs that are repaid to investors with interest on their due date.
