Police have arrested a man over the death of an elderly Chinese woman who was attacked in South Auckland.
Yan Pin Yang, 80, was attacked while alone in her family home on 11 June this year.
Mrs Yang suffered physical injuries during the assault and died at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital three days later.
Police say they have arrested a Manurewa man, 29. He will appear in Manukau District Court charged with murder on Friday.
Police interviewed several thousand people during the six-month investigation.
