All Blacks forward Adam Thomson has made a brief appearance in the Hastings District Court.
Police arrested the Otago and Highlanders rugby player on Sunday morning after an incident in Havelock North.
Thomson, 26, is charged with assaulting a female.
The court registrar remanded him on bail to reappear in court at the end of next month.
