Petrol prices fell on Wednesday for the second time this week to reach their cheapest since December 2005.
BP, Mobil, Shell and Castrol dropped the price of 91 octane by 3 cents to $1.32.9 a litre at most outlets; 95 octane fell to $1.37.9 a litre. Diesel is down 4c to $1.03.9 a litre.
Gull Petroleum has cut the price of 91 octane to $1.30.9; 98 octane to $1.40.9 and diesel to $1.02.9.
The companies say they review their prices daily and the drop is due to a continuous decrease in the cost of refined fuel, plus a slightly stronger dollar and the competitive New Zealand market.
