Police in Tokoroa are investigating the death of a woman, who may have drunk a fatal dose of methanol.
She was admitted to Tokoroa Hospital last Friday and was transferred to Waikato Hospital when it became obvious her condition was worsening. She died on Monday
Police say preliminary tests and inquiries show she may have consumed methanol given to her by an associate.
Their inquiry is centering on whether the woman, 22, knew what she was drinking, or whether she believed it was some sort of home brew.
