2011 comeback predicted for NZ First - party president

7:37 am on 14 February 2009

New Zealand First president George Groombridge believes the party will make a comeback at the 2011 election.

The party's six MPs and their leader Winston Peters failed to win enough support to return to Parliament in the November election.

MPs and party members are meeting in Auckland on Saturday.

Mr Groombridge says everyone is prepared to take a close look at restructuring New Zealand First, as there's still a place for a centrist party.
