A man is due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday in connection with the beating of a war veteran at the Papatoetoe RSA.
Second World War veteran Eric Brady, 85, is still in hospital with a broken jaw and serious bruising, after being attacked in a carpark outside the Papatoetoe RSA at 8.30pm on Wednesday.
A man, 18, was arrested and charged after he was picked up on Saturday night for an unrelated matter.
He is charged with aggravated robbery, assault with intent to rob, and wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm.
