Ports of Auckland is set to cut costs further after a fall in container volumes in the past three months.
The fall follows record high container volumes at the country's largest container port between July - December last year.
However container volumes for the three months ending 31 March, were down 7.4% compared to the same period last year.
Imported vehicles were down by 54.4% compared to the same quarter last year.
But in March, there was a year-on-year increase of 5% in full export containers.
