Telecom is bringing forward the launch date of a new mobile network, ahead of Vodafone's new network launch at the end of May.
Telecom says services on its new 3G mobile network will be available to customers from 13 May, earlier than its planned June launch.
The company is spending $574 million upgrading its mobile network over two years.
Telecom retail chief executive Alan Gourdie says the new network will be faster in more places and the company will offer new services and handsets to win customers back.
