Boscawen to contest Mt Albert for ACT

3:56 pm on 2 May 2009

The man best known for campaigning against the Electoral Finance Act last year will contest the Mt Albert by-election for the ACT party.

John Boscawen, who is already a list MP, intends to campaign full-time ahead of the June 13 by-election, which he expects to be a hard fight.

Like many communities, he says, Mt Albert has been affected by rising crime and violence, so law and order will be one of his key issues.

Green Party co-leader Russel Norman is the only other candidate so far announced for the seat, which was held for Labour by Helen Clark.
