Tainui leader Tukoroirangi Morgan has been meeting Arab and American First Nations leaders, along with Maori King Tuheitia, to find networks to help Maori can buy strategic assets that may come up for sale.

Mr Morgan says its critical that Maori are in a position to buy assets such as Auckland International Airport and Auckland Ports Authority.

He says Maori are citizens of the world and must do business with key players across the globe who hold similar values.

Mr Morgan says Tainui is no ordinary commercial company and such assets would be held for ever for the benefit of future generations.
