McCully departs for EU talks

Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully will leave for Brussels on Saturday for New Zealand's regular six-monthly consultations with the European Union.

He will also meet with NATO's secretary-general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer for talks which will focus on Afghanistan.

Mr McCully will then travel to Japan to attend the fifth Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting, before holding talks with various Japanese ministers and political leaders.
