Eighteen United States soldiers have been confirmed as the first cases in Kuwait with swine flu.
The soldiers had just arrived in Kuwait from the United States.
They are the first confirmed cases in the Gulf.
Kuwait is a logistics base for the US army in support of its troops in Iraq.
The US embassy in Kuwait said it was aware of the cases, adding that the patients have been isolated and had not come into contact with the Kuwaiti public.
