Companies raise fuel prices

7:58 am on 3 June 2009

Three companies in New Zealand raised the price of 91 unleaded petrol and diesel by 4 cents a litre on Monday.

BP, Caltex and Mobil are selling 91 unleaded for $1.67.9 cents a litre and diesel for $1.05.9c per litre.

BP says the rises are due to increases in cost of the production of higher octane petrol and the difficulty in sourcing premium petrol that meets New Zealands fuel specifications.
