The services sector in New Zealand is still struggling but the latest survey shows it does not appear to be getting worse.
The BNZ Capital-Business New Zealand Performance Services Index stands at 46.2 in May, up 2.5 points from the previous month and is the 14th consecutive month of contraction.
A reading below 50 indicates that activity is declining.
BNZ senior economist Craig Ebert says most firms are still struggling and they should be cautious as the economy remains fragile.
