The Automobile Association is urging caution on roads in the far south due to the weather.
It says State Highway 93 from Clinton to Mataura remains closed by snow until further notice.
A number of other roads in the area are dangerous because of ice.
They include State Highway 94 between Mossburn and Te Anau, and between Te Anau and Milford Sound.
