Wine exporters warned not to oversupply markets

Wine exporters have again been told not to oversupply markets during the recession.

About 250 wine industry representatives heard from a number of international experts at an export forum in Christchurch last week.

New Zealand Wine Growers' global marketing director Chris Yorke says the feed-back from overseas markets continues to be positive, despite the economic gloom.

He says exports increased by 29% last year and continue to grow.

But Mr Yorke says there's strong support for keeping New Zealand's wine exports focused on quality and not quantity.
