An Auckland man has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping of a Waikato woman last week.
He will appear in Hamilton District Court on Wednesday on charges of kidnapping, assault and motor vehicle theft.
The arrest comes after a number of searches of houses in Hamilton and Te Awamutu on Wednesday morning.
Police say the armed offenders squad was used and two distraction devices were set off during one raid.
They say after appealing to the man at a house in Te Awamutu, he gave himself up.
