South Africa on top again

South Africa beat Australia 29-17 in the Tri Nations rugby series in Cape Town on Saturday. The half-time score was 23-10.

The Springboks now lead the series with 12 points from three matches. New Zealand are next with four points.

Fly-half Morne Steyn scored 24 of South Africa's points from seven penalties and a drop goal.

Steyn also scored a record 31 points last weekend against New Zealand.

Wallaby fullback Adam Ashley-Cooper scored 98 seconds after the Test began at Newlands rugby stadium, but the rest of the half belonged to the Springboks. Australia scored again in the 66th minute.

Australia also lost in Auckland three weeks ago, 16-22 to the All Blacks.

The Springboks beat New Zealand 31-19 in Durban last Saturday and 28-19 in Bloemfontein the previous weekend. Their next matches are in Perth, Brisbane and Hamilton.
