Mobile phone marketing firm seeks $2 million for expansion

Mobile marketing firm HooHaa is looking to raise up to $2 million from investors to fund its expansion plans.

The company's text advertising service pays users to receive promotions after providing detailed information about themselves.

HooHaa, which is based in Wanganui, has rejigged its business model, and is now targeting companies with large databases, rather than adding members itself, of which it has 80,000.

For instance, it has signed a deal with FlyBuys, which has 2.2 million members, to give those members the option of receiving advertising on their mobile phones.

That will be launched within the next six weeks.
