NZ win netball series

New Zealand has won an inaugural world netball series in Manchester, beating Jamaica 32-27 in the final.

The Silver Ferns led 6-5 after the first quarter, 11-10 at half-time and 27-22 at the third quarter.

Irene van Dyk had a perfect shooting game, scoring 17 from 17.

Earlier, the Silver Ferns beat Australia 27-17 in the semi final of the Fastnet tournament while Jamaica beat England 33-22.

Australia won the playoff for third, against England.

The Silver Ferns play England in a one-off full length Test on Friday, then play two in Jamaica.
