Nelson police are investigating a second suspicious fire in a week at a Housing New Zealand home a family has been trying to move into.
Fire officers were called to the vacant house in Orchard Street in Stoke on Thursday night.
Parts of the house that were not already damaged by a fire on Monday were badly burned.
Police say the previous tenants had moved out last week to make way for a family of 10, but the house is now uninhabitable.
