Appeal decision reserved on sex offender case

The Court of Appeal has reserved its decision over the case of sex offender Nicholas Reekie.

Reekie is in prison after being convicted of four sex offences, including the rape and abduction of an 11-year-old girl in the 1990s.

Another man, David Dougherty, was wrongly convicted of that offence.

Reekie told the Court of Appeal in Wellington on Tuesday that DNA used to convict him was taken from him by force, so it should not have been used.
