Intel is being sued by the Federal Trade Commission in the United States.
The world's biggest maker of computer chips is accused of using its market dominance to squash competitors and prevent innovation.
The agency says Intel had deliberately tried to "hamstring" its smaller competitors.
But Intel says the FTC's case is misguided.
Last month Intel reached a $US1.25 billion settlement with Advanced Micro Devices to end a legal dispute between the companies.
Intel is also appealing against a record $US1.45 billion anti-competition fine from European regulators.
