Rain brings spate of crashes in lower North Island

5:09 pm on 23 January 2010

Police say they are frustrated by the number of traffic accidents throughout the lower North Island and urge drivers to take care in the wet weather.

Senior Sergeant Marty Edghill from the Central Communications Centre says police have attended about 20 minor crashes since midday Saturday.

He says drivers are not driving to the conditions, and such accidents are a waste of police resources.
