A woman has been charged with failing to stop and provide assistance following a fatal hit-and-run in Westport on Saturday.
James Hill, 21, was killed when he was struck by a car while walking home from a party on Saturday morning.
Detective Duncan Bull says a 21-year-old woman came to the police station with her lawyer following the crash. She was charged and released on bail.
He says further charges are likely to be laid within a month.
