Police speak to Chiefs player following bar incident

6:15 pm on 5 March 2010

The Chiefs Super 14 rugby franchise says Sione Luaki is being spoken to by police following an incident at a central city bar in Hamilton.

Police say no one was arrested at the bar early on Friday, but a 28-year-old man voluntarily went to the station to be interviewed.

Police say the complainant is still to be formally interviewed and it is too early to say what, if any, charges may result.

The chief executive of the Chiefs, Gary Dawson, says they are aware of the incident and are waiting for police to decide their course of action.

Lauaki is currently serving a two-week suspension for an incident during a recent game in South Africa.
