Minor research mistakes 'fuel' climate change sceptics

A visiting Australian academic says he is concerned at the way public opinion on climate change is being coloured by minor discrepancies in reports.

Dr Ian Lowe told the Asia Pacific Science Technology and Society Network in Wellington that climate change scepticism is growing, contrary to the weight of scientific evidence.

He told Radio New Zealand News that people's ideas about climate change are being warped by publicity concerning relatively minor mistakes in research.
