Far North police are investigating whether a fatal road crash was caused by a man drink-driving at 8am.
Katherine Kennedy died after a Nissan Navara crossed the centre line of State Highway 10 near Kerikeri and collided with her car on Wednesday morning.
Police say two men were in the Navara and wine containers were found in their car.
Officers took blood samples from the driver and are waiting for the results of those tests.
