Anti-counterfeiting talks to be made public

Details of international talks on copyright infringements are to be made public following criticism that the negotiations have been kept secret.

Delegates met behind closed doors in Wellington last week to discuss the terms of an Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

Trade Minister Tim Groser says he welcomes the decision to release the negotiating text.

He says the release, on Wednesday, will make the process more accessible to the public and may help in bringing about a final agreement.

The next round of negotiations will take place in Switzerland in June.
