NZ man found guilty of murder in United States

A jury in the United States has found New Zealander Blazej Kot guilty of murdering his wife and setting their house on fire to cover the evidence.

The jury in New York took seven hours to reach the guilty verdict.

During the case, the prosecution argued that Kot had killed the Cornell University worker because he wanted out of their marriage. but the defence argued he was mentally ill.

Kot faces a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
