New Zealand police say they still have a warrant to arrest an Israeli man who is now reportedly a suspect in a killing in Dubai.
Police say they are still looking for Zev Barkan in connection with a 2004 case when two other Israelis were jailed for passport fraud, then deported.
The Guardian newspaper in Britain reports he is one of 32 suspects involved in the killing of Hamas military commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a hotel room in Dubai on 19 January.
Dubai police say the suspects used false passports from Britain, Ireland, France, Germany and Australia.
The police commander there says the United Arab Emirates will not tolerate external political scores being settled on its territory.
New Zealand police say they are unaware of any link between the Dubai case and the previous passport fraud investigation.
