A man sought for the murder of his millionaire business partner in Western Australia has been found camping in bushland in Queensland.

Cameron Mansell, 38, was arrested on Tuesday morning in the Paluma National Park, 85km north of Townsville after a 12 day manhunt.

Perth millionaire Craig Puddy has not been seen since 3 May and Mr Mansell was under police survillence.

However, the ABC reports he fled Western Australia almost two weeks ago, just before a warrant for his arrest was issued.

He first flew to Adelaide under an assumed name and was traced to his mother's home before disappearing again.

A nationwide alert was issued and Mr Mansell was then spotted in Brisbane and Townsville.

He later appeared in court in Townsville for a hearing on extradition to Perth.
