The Government will contribute $350,000 towards the 2013 BMX world championships, which will be held in New Zealand.
Bike New Zealand has won the hosting rights for the tournament, which will be held at Vector Arena in Auckland.
Economic Development Minister Gerry Brownlee says more than 4000 participants are expected.
